Walkabout Lodge is located in the town of Nhulunbuy (pronounced Nool-un-boy) situated on the north-eastern tip of the Northern Territory, where the Gulf of Carpentaria meets the Arafura Sea. This region is respectfully called East Arnhem Land.
With a population of around 3800, Nhulunbuy has all the facilities expected of a modern town. Which include three schools, a hospital, health and dental clinics, two shopping centres with a wide variety of shops, a library, bank and ATM services. There are numerous dining options for casual dining experiences and cafes to grab a quick coffee. Walkabout Tavern
The Walkabout Tavern is situated in the centre of town and ensures a welcoming local vibe and great company to enjoy a drink or two in the comfortable shaded beer garden. The Walkabout Tavern screens a variety of live sporting events and is complemented with two gaming rooms, NT Keno and a UBET facility for the punters.
The Walkabout Tavern has two bars. The Nhulun Bar is our public bar and Flinders Bar & Bistro where you can enjoy a meal. Both bars are connected to our Beer Garden, its large capacity allows the tavern to host community events, bands and all major sporting games are played on the mega-screen.
On weekend evenings, The Nhulun Bar turns into The Jam Nightclub with local and interstate DJs playing every weekend. If you’re looking for the most happening place to be on a Friday and Saturday night in Nhulunbuy this is it.
